Terms of use

Draft, pending qualified legal review. These terms are structurally complete and substantively accurate against how AEGIS is operated, but the precise wording has not yet been reviewed by a UK commercial-IT solicitor. Paid customers contract on a separate Master Subscription Agreement plus Order Form — this page governs the unsigned-visitor relationship.

These terms govern your use of the AEGIS by Hu website at aegiscompliant.com (the “Site”), any trial or sandbox environment provided to you without a signed agreement, and any incidental services accessed before a Master Subscription Agreement (“MSA”) is in place. Paid use of the AEGIS platform is governed by the MSA and the applicable Order Form; where those documents conflict with this page, those documents prevail.

1. Acceptance

By accessing the Site or using a trial environment, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to do so.

2. The service

AEGIS provides a multi-tenant SaaS platform for compliance operations at regulated firms. The Site contains marketing material, a public pricing page, a Trust Centre, and a contact form. Trial environments expose a subset of platform features against synthetic or sample data only; production-grade availability, support, encryption, and data-residency commitments apply only under an MSA.

3. Your account and conduct

You agree to provide accurate information, keep any credentials secure, and use the Site and trial environments only for evaluation, internal business purposes, or other lawful uses consistent with these terms. You will not:

  • upload real personal data, confidential customer data, or material non-public information into a trial environment;
  • attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network except as expressly authorised;
  • reverse-engineer the platform, decompile binaries, or extract its source code;
  • use the platform to build a competing product or service;
  • scrape, harvest, or otherwise extract content from the Site at volumes inconsistent with normal browsing.

We may suspend access immediately on reasonable belief that any of the above has occurred. For coordinated security disclosure see our Security page.

4. Confidentiality

Information shared with you under non-disclosure (including roadmap previews, pricing on a signed Order Form, and architecture detail not published on the Site) is confidential and may only be used for the purposes for which it was disclosed. Information you share with us through the contact form or a procurement process is held in confidence and used only to respond and to administer the relationship.

5. Intellectual property

AEGIS by Hu retains all intellectual-property rights in the platform, the Site, the documentation, and any improvements or derivative works. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and view the Site and (where provided) trial environments for the purpose of evaluating AEGIS. No other rights are granted.

Feedback you provide is welcome and we may use it to improve the platform without obligation to you. You retain ownership of any data you upload to a trial environment, on the understanding that you upload only material you are entitled to share and that you have stripped or anonymised before upload.

6. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy notice. Our sub-processors are listed on the Subprocessors page.

7. Availability and changes

The Site and trial environments are provided “as is” and on a reasonable-endeavours basis. We do not warrant uptime, fitness for a particular purpose, or that they are error-free. We may update, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time. Production SLAs apply only under an MSA.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AEGIS by Hu is not liable for loss of profits, revenue, anticipated savings, goodwill, or for indirect or consequential losses arising out of your use of the Site or a trial environment. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

9. Termination

You may stop using the Site at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to a trial environment at any time for any reason, and without notice for material breach of these terms. Clauses that by their nature survive termination will do so.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising from or in connection with these terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer protection law gives you a non-waivable right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

11. Updates to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
